 My Chardonnay tastes like buttery popcorn!?!

I opened a bottle at midnight, and every sip I take I think, "what the fuck is that flavor?" nothing I've ever tasted in wine before. Well, it just hit me. That "flavor" is buttery popcorn. no shit. My Chardonnay tastes oddly like buttery fucking popcorn. and once I realized this is the taste that has been flooding my mouth, every time I take a drink I cringe and find it unpleasant. Damn it. before it was just a strange flavor for Chardonnay, but once I associated it with buttery popcorn it became gross. On my own I've somehow mentally ruined this bottle of wine for myself.
Maybe I should just go to bed. That would be the safest option anyway. Then I can wake up, get some weed, get blazed, and thoroughly enjoy the rest of my popcorn tasting wine.
Chardonnay is not supposed to taste like popcorn, is it?

does it smell like buttery popcorn too?
maybe the taste is mixing with something you ate earlier today.
I don't even remember what chardonnay tastes like, I prefer merlot.. but I do have some, so maybe I'll open it and get back to you.

the only thing i've eaten today was a club sandwich and an oatmeal raisin cookie at subway earlier, and some cracked pepper potato chips I grabbed imediatley after makeing this thread. The smell is really sweet and rich. not at all like the taste. It's got a tingly sensation when it hits the mouth, then the buttery popcorn flavor, then I swallow and have a syrupy aftertaste, not texture, but the aftertaste is as if I had just drank some butter syrup or something. Strange fucking bottle. I spent more than I usually do on a bottle this time because I felt like spoiling myself and getting something nice. Turns out I would rather have the four dollar bottle of paul mason piss wine. Oh well, live and learn.

that shit makes me sick too..I mix that shit with grape soda..wine alone is nasty..you are not the only one..I buy high alcohol wine when I buy it..and I still mix it with grape shasta...or use a lot of ice cubes...
