Jamaican Drug Laws, Harsh/ Leniant?
    #1354964 - 03/06/03 11:40 AM (5 years, 8 months ago)

I might be going to jamaica for vacation and i was wonderin how easy it is to get chron in jamaica? Do ya just walk up to the nearist guy with dreadlocks and a bob marly shit or does it require some amount of searchin?

Also, in the unlickly event i run into jamaican law enforcement (is there such a thing ? ) what do they do for small marijuana offenses? Would they even care if u have like a 20 sac on u and just make u throw it away like in T-Dot or will they bust ur ballz?

I don't know about laws, but one of my good friends went for vacation a couple years ago. He walked off the plane and was promptly approached by a guy who said "Need buds??" I think it's just that easy.

I wish more people would go to Jamaica to get their weed; it's an effective method of population control.

The Jamaican laws are NOT relaxed. Unless you're a rastafarian (spelling?), if you are caught, consider a life of constant sodomy in a prison that isn't fit for a child rapist.

Also, consider the fact that in the Carribean (with the exception of the USVI), entrapment is not illegal.

Yes, they do approach you when you get off the plane. Don't buy it, many people have been arrested right there in the airport by their police force. Go to a beach, try to find some guy chillin and smokin herb, just dont buy from people at the airport, I've heard bad things. I really wouldn't want to be in a Jamaican prison.

I second that motion. The majority of those are narcs, and even if you ask them if they're cops, they don't need to tell you. In fact, that could be grounds for suspicion, right there.

i was in jamaica last year, and it's ridiculously easy to get pot. don't buy it at first though.... wait until you're at your resort/hotel. people actually chased our bus with buds in their arms. it was pretty sweet.

also, they will try to sell you their shittiest stuff first. it won't look shitty to you, but it is. just keep saying... "bring me better, i'll make it worth your while." they'll respect you for it, and you'll end up with better stuff and better deals.

as for law enforcement... ALL jamaicans smoke, and if you are cool and respectful to them, they won't be interested in turning you in. our hotel security guard actually ended up giving us pot because he liked us. just be cool, and people will be cool to you. don't smoke out in the open either... the law enforcement there would love to bust a white fuck like yourself.
