It's ceramic. When I say I "made" it I mean I poured it in liquid form into a mold, took it out, cleaned it, painted it, fired it in my kiln, glazed it, fired it again, put the mushroom decal on, and fired it a third time.
I've had those decals for about seven years, they were old and all fucked up, but I found one that wasn't too bad.
I don't have any alcohol to put in it so I don't know how well it works yet. I'll find that out probably Monday. Next to it is another burner insert like the one that's in it. It's kind of small. I know alcohol burns pretty fast, so I'm afraid it may only burn for a few minutes before it has to be refilled.

Olive oil makes a fine substitute and burns slower.

Old bacon fat makes great candles too, and doesn't smell either.
...but this is for sterilization, not decoration.
This is fungus culturing equipment.

That was the only decal I had that didn't have a hole in it. I made the bottle a couple years ago back when I was casting. My casting equipment is all put up and the clay has all turned to shit.

Check the local ceramic shops, they might can help you.

thats pretty nice. what else have you made?
i have a bisque buddha i want to get some quality jade-type glaze for. i haven't found any glaze worthy of this buddha...but i need to find some quick.

Your local ceramic shop should have samples you could look at.
I'm partial to semi-opaque glazes.

FLAME ON!
I tried some 91% isopropyl alcohol, but it was still leaving carbon deposits. I finally found the real thing, S-L-X denatured alcohol. Now it burns much better, and clean.

I used the heart bottle because It was what I had.
I won't be making any more. I don't have any more useable mushroom decals, I'd have to dig through my catalogs and order some. Those are probably out of print.
