I'm surprised there's not more "Horrific, worse than death" votes.
maybe it's all the sponsors who frequent these boards.

They've been, literally, the worse possible thing I can imagine. Like being possessed by some horrible, alien entity that derives pleasure from prolonged misery. These words don't do justice to how utterly e-e-e-evil Salvia seems to me.

*laugh* I know what you mean... however, everybody is a bit different. What seems horrid to you is a blessing to somebody else. For me, so-so... I purchased 5g of 5x standard extract in 2000 and I still have ~3g left after giving 1g away. I play with it once or twice a year. For me, not fun, but not evil.

It would be impossible for someone to mistake what happens to me as fun. Or, to put it another way, the experience I have when my brain 'does it's thing' with the Salvia molecule is literally like being involved in a life threatening car accident. No one. No. One. (I know of) can be blissful and radiant when they are about to be made into the proverbial road pizza, or as they are being raped with hooks pulling your cheeks back past your ears as the rapist laughs at your pleas for mercy and death. you get the idea.

It bums me out for days, considering that the brain can experience a hell like that. That *that* is a concious state that I could be stuck in when I die! YIKES! (which is the main reason I refuse to chew Salvia! ...can you imagine!? being there for an hour???)O.M.G.)

Whew, anyways... thank goodness I'll probably just die like any other normal, miniscule, human animal and fade into nothingness.
maybe.
or
like that movie 'Flash Gordon' said...

THE END ?

I don't think any of those descriptions would fit my salvia experiences. In fact, I don't think words could describe it. My experiences with it have been neither positive nor negative, but "so-so" definitely cannot describe such a powerful, otherworldly experience.

Because it seems that only the people who truly hate Salvia have given an in depth report here I'll be the one who adds a bit of balance.

My first true breakthrough with Salvia took place when I inhaled a full tube from my 2' water bong. It hit me all of the sudden and I was thrown back onto the floor as my body acquired a feeling of immense weight. It was as if my body were suddenly made of lead. As I lay there my mind was taken back in time to my childhood. I remember Looking into my grandmothers house fro outside from the vantage point as if I were floating just outside about roof high and looking through the wall like I had X-ray vision. I got to see myself and my grandmother(who has been dead for over 10 years) interact and love each other just the way we did when she used to keep me as a child. I was so grateful to have been given this vision that I can't remember being so happy as I was just then. Without Salvia, I would have never had that beautiful experience.

Another venture into Salvia's grasp had me sitting in my friends big padded sofa chair, launching space stations(like the cloud city in Star Wars) through his ceiling and roof(again walls seemed to vanish or become transparent) and into the cosmos just by using some force that emanated from my hands. That was definitely a cool night.

Those are the two most beautiful experiences I've had with Salvia, but the others were no less enjoyable. I look forward to each and every journey Lady Salvia. I usually come back from the beyond laughing my ass off.

more than 90% of the time the salvia/salvinorin induced experiences that occur with me are very enjoyable. some are so elusive I would have not have any traces if I did not write them down immediately. (I have accumulated maybe 300 pages so far of trip notes in salvia space)
the other 10% of the time it is just too strong and scarey and most of those times it has been the best though weird is certainly an applicable term.
I would not say that i go for it as if it were a source of pleasure like weed or coke, more a source of mystery, reflection, and resonance - like space or like science fiction even.

The few salvia experiences I have had were illuminating, but very scary and going in and out of the experience feels to me like being eaten alive, like my body is being churned up and fraying at the edges. During my last salvia trip I managed to type a note to myself along the lines of : "this is the worst feeling ever!" which helped me remember how bad it was when I came out of it. It's an intriguing plant, but just not for me.

I'm really surprised that Salvia is such a negative experience for so many people. I've only had great experiences from it, but I guess my sig is right.

I'm equally amazed that people can have such beautiful experiences with it!
I find it extremely odd that, as similar as human brains are, they do two *totally* different things with the same molecule.
Is this what a 'sig' is? A signature for our

It's uncomfortable at the time, but after the fact I'm glad I did it.

I always get nervous when I'm about to do salvia though, moreso than most other drugs. And the delusional, out-of-control hot feeling always confirms my feeling that I made a huge mistake coming back.

But I do anyway.

I agree with your sig also.
It can be applied to life experiences in general as well.

I voted fairly negative. I've done Salvia quite a few times in the past but not in the past few years. I have never once had a positive or meaningful experience on it. The experience is not one I find enjoyable in the slightest and I probably won't use Salvia again.
