Lawmakers in Alabama are trying to ban the sale of an LSD like drug called salvia. It's not classified as an illegal drug like cocaine or marijuana.
Last fall, Alabama legislators refused to outlaw the hallucinogen, salvia, and Tuesday the same thing may happen again. But Senator Roger Bedford and Senator Hank Erwin are sponsoring bills that would make salvia carry the same penalties as marijuana.
Eight states have passed laws restricting salvia, but the Federal Government has not banned the drug.
If the bills don't pass, Alabama residents could still legally get the drug in the state. With the threat of a ban, salvia websites and other vendors say people are stocking up just in case the bills do make it through the Senate.

in my opinion...there is no point to making salvia illegal. it is a rely cool high but it dosent last long and can be unpleasant. But now there is a supposed "rise in teen use of salvia" i bet it is just more kids hear its like acid and want to try it then do it a few times and start to hate it....and im sure like 3.4% of them like it and could develop addiction but honestly i doubt that will happen....so basically it could be a slight "disturbance" in the "System" but for only like a month. Long live the three wise men B.H. A.H. T.M!
-------------------- The world is like a ride at an amusement park and when you choose to go on it you think it's real, because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round and it has thrills and chills and it's very brightly colored and it's very loud. And it's fun for a while Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: Is this real? Or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered and they come back to us and they say Hey! Don't worry don't be afraid ever because this is just a ride. And we kill those people.Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride! Look at my furrows of worry look at my big bank account and my family. This has to be real.

I wonder if our government will ever progress and realize that making drugs like this illegal does not solve anything.

They always say they want to protect the children, but everyday, literally EVERYDAY, there is a new story about how salvia does this, salvia does that, abuse, epidemic, etc etc. Don't they realize that NOBODY knew about salvia until a few years ago when it started to be all over the news and people found out about it? Jesus, if they want people to stop doing it, DON'T TALK ADVERTISE IT EVERYDAY!

Thats exactly what the government did in the 80's with the CIA and cocaine imports for crack production. Bush sr. went on TV and said.. Don't buy this niggers.. Its deadly poison.. Real strong and bad for you.. Just five dollars.. Brilliant marketing. And then his CIA ops ran all over the country dealing it out while the DEA controls the competition.
