Two Kosciusko County residents were arrested Friday after police discovered they had passed out in a car with a methamphetamine lab in the back.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, shortly after 5 a.m. a county drug task force officer found Jason Scott Lewallen, 22, of North Webster, and Hailey Kay Drumm, 24, of Leesburg, passed out inside a car parked at 85 EMS B7 Lane, which is near Kuhn Lake and south of North Webster.
It took several minutes to wake Lewallen and Drumm, but when they eventually rolled down a car window, the officer smelled the strong odor of methamphetamine-produced gas, police said.
Lewallen and Drumm were arrested, and officers found a “cooking” meth lab inside the car, police said.
When he was arrested, police said, Lewallen had knives, possible stolen property and a .40-caliber Glock handgun in his possession.
Lewallen was charged with possession of methamphetamine, carrying a gun without a permit and possession of marijuana.
Drumm was charged with possession of a precursor for the production of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.
Both Lewallen and Drumm were being held at the Kosciusko County Jail without bail.

Wow. And you think that using meth is bad for you. I guess they were pretty burnt out if they thought it would be a good idea to take a nap in a confined space with no ventilation right next to an operating meth lab. On the road too... What the fuck.

I wonder if the situation would have turned out differently if they had woken up, saw the cops banging on the window, told them to fuck off without rolling it down and went back to sleep.
If my car smelled like marijuana or meth lab I would surely make the cops break in, they would need some real probable cause to do that. More than just two guys sleeping in a car, right johnm214?
