 Japanese man's underwear yields marijuana in Philippines

Manila - A Japanese man was arrested at the Philippine's main international airport after marijuana cigarettes were found in his underwear, an aviation police report said Monday. Nishi Kenechi, 55, was arrested Sunday at Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport after a policeman who frisked him during a routine body check felt something on his buttocks.
When police demanded that he take out what was hidden in his underwear, Kenechi brought out 34 marijuana cigarettes.
Kenechi explained that he just wanted to experience smoking marijuana when he returned to Japan and had no intention of selling the prohibited drug.
The aviation police prevented Kenechi from taking his flight to Kansai and turned him over to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency officers for further investigation.

Under current Philippine law, possession of 500 grams (a little more than one pound) of marijuana is punishable by death, while possession of between five and 499 grams merits a life sentence. The law goes easier on small-time offenders: Those who possess less than five grams face only a 12-year prison sentence.

Not as bad as that Australian women that was beheaded in Singapore over like 2-3 grams of coke.
