The Michigan State Police Hometown Security Team, in operation Sept. 3, in Berrien County's Benton Township seized over $80,000 in cash from a traffic stop.
Police stopped a vehicle for a signal violation on Interstate 94 near Pipestone Road.Upon investigation, approximately $86,000 in cash was seized from the vehicle.
Police obtained information during the traffic stop, referring to a large amount of marijuana being transported from the Chicago area to Michigan.
Troopers went to the Chicago area location, assisted by the Drug Enforcement Agency and Southwest Enforcement Team, and searched a garage located near the city of Chicago. In that search, over 1,000 pounds of marijuana was confiscated.
Police said several individuals were identified and arrested in Chicago. A further investigation in the city of Grand Rapids turned up additional marijuana. Also, three vehicles were forfeited.
Police are continuing the investigation.

Yes... except, the fact that the vehicle had a "signal violation" is only provided by the police. The actual truth of the situation is unknown. You are, like most people, assuming that the police are always truthful. That is a big mistake. And one of the most common fabricated reasons police use for pulling people over is... 'failure to signal properly'.
