New meth on market December 13, 2005 - sandmountainreporter.com
According to Marshall County Drug Enforcement Unit Director, Ricky Phillips, just about the time things are somewhat figured out with the drug dealers, they come up with a new wrinkle.
It seems drug dealers who specialize in the manufacture of methamphetamine have come up with a different and potentially more potent liquid form of the drug.
In regard to how potent and how different the new meth is, Phillips said, ?We are really trying to figure that out.?
Referring to the usual method for manufacturing the drug in this area Phillips said, ??in the end process they introduce hydrogen chloride gas that makes it turn into a solid, but the stuff we have picked up over the last week or two in Arab they use it just like it is.?
Phillips said, ?I have spoken with the DEA, the FBI and everybody else. And while they said they heard of it, none of the guys around here have seen it.?
?The guys we got it from,? Phillips said, ?told us it was stronger and better than any meth they had come across yet.?
It appears, at the present time, according to Phillips that no one else in the law enforcement community here or across the state has come into contact with this form of the drug.
Although officials in Cullman County did tell Phillips they had heard it was out there, but until the drug showed up in Arab, they had not seen it.
Phillips expressed his concern that this new liquid form appears to lend itself to being more easily transported and potentially more difficult to detect.
Phillips said a portion of the drug that was confiscated last week was in a small common medicine type bottle with an eyedropper and some had been discovered in a soft drink bottle.
He had also heard of it being transported in something as simple as a 35mm film container.
Based on an e-mail he received from a DEA agent, Phillips said, ?While I don?t know for sure the possibilities for the drug to be disguised in just about anything? could present a problem for law enforcement personnel.
The DEA was only able to relay information to Phillips regarding one documented case involving the shipment of liquid methamphetamine in bottles of Tequila from Mexico in the spring of this year.
?We are trying to learn as much about this form of the drug as we can,? said Phillips.
Phillips added, ?One of the Guntersville officers has some friends in California connected with the DEA and we are hoping to have a conference call possibly as soon as tomorrow or the next day with them and a DEA chemist. We hope to send a sample to him and see what the makeup is of it.?

Its probably just some crank dissolved in water....
I used to dissolve it in water all the time, 'cause after awhile you just dont want to snort it, and smoking it doesnt taste the greatest. Alot of people I used to know did it this way. Its VERY water soluble. W/ a little bit of heat you can get a shitload of speed dissolved in a little bit of water...
But yeah, this is common. The pigs are probably just like "OMG! N3W DRUGz"
