Biker faces drug charges Police say suspect claims to be member of Sadistics gang By Ricci Graham, STAFF WRITER
HAYWARD ? A 49-year-old man who authorities suspect is a member of an Oakland motorcycle gang was arrested Thursday following a drug investigation by the Alameda County Sheriff's Department.
Edward Cearley ? an ex-felon whom investigators said is also known as "Eddy Spaghetti" ? was taken into custody without incident at Meekland Storage and Garage, 22425 Meekland Ave., in an unincorporated community near Hayward on suspicion of drug possession.
About 20 sheriff's deputies, assisted by officers from the California Highway Patrol, simultaneously exercised search warrants at the storage facility and Cearley's home on the 1100 block of Cotter Way.
Sgt. Derrick Hesselein said detectives found a variety of drugs at the storage facility, including an undetermined amount of methamphetamine, mushrooms, Ecstasy, marijuana and chemicals used to manufacture meth.
At Cearley's home, authorities found an undetermined amount of meth, scales, packaging, a shotgun and about $2,000 in cash, Hesselein said.
Cearley was booked into Santa Rita county jail in Dublin on suspicion of drug and gun-possession charges.
Because of the dangerous nature of the chemicals found at the storage facility, members of the California Department of Justice's narcotics enforcement team were called in to inspect and clear the area.
