Westchester Parents Arrested For Allegedly Growing Marijuana
* Two-Month Investigation Nabs Couple

NEW YORK (CBS) Two Westchester parents are busted for allegedly growing marijuana inside their own home. It happened in Peekskill.
?But there was additionally marijuana and joints and half smoked joints littered throughout the apartment and this is where the child was being reared, raised and left to be in this atmosphere,? says Lt. Christopher Calabrese of the Westchester County Police.
An undercover investigation began four months ago, after residents complained of drug activity at the home on Lincoln Terrace.
And police say they were not surprised when they found out who lived there. They say 44-year old Donald Carey had been charged with drug possession several times before.
Police also found four marijuana plants growing on the porch.
Carey?s girlfriend and the baby?s mother, 33-year old Stacey Cooper of Mahopac, was also taken into custody Wednesday morning.
Police say Carey had been selling drugs out of his home for more than a year.
He was arraigned Thursday afternoon on felony marijuana possession charges.
Cooper was charged with unlawful possession and both also face child endangerment charges.
Police say the focus now is finding Carey?s drug supplier.
Meanwhile, Carey remains behind bars at the Westchester county jail without bail. Cooper was released, but is due back in court next week. Meanwhile, the baby is now back in his mother?s care.

This shit is so rediculous and is the reason why so many children have been up for foster care and so many of them get fucked more in the longrun than with being with their originial parents. This shit happens all the time and is contributing to the decline of society.

He had a few marijuana plants, he's fucked and so is his kid.  If he had a house full of liquor bottles everywhere, nothing would have happened. Amerika the beautiful.

4 plants on the porch? Personal stash or hobby grow. I doubt what he sold came from his massive 4 plant operation  .

Four plants on the PORCH, no less - I mean, what's the point of growing outdoors if you don't use all that soil 
His four plants was HARDLY creating a bad atmosphere for the child.
Half smoked cigarettes don't alarm anyone - why should half smoked joints? Probably just roaches, anyway... I mean... What? They've got plants, they've got pot, and they have joints, and somehow you are surprised that they smoked them?
