Deputies say drugs sold from shop
Raid at North Valley store yields pot and mushrooms

Along with the trading cards and comics, Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department deputies searching a North Valley collectibles shop said they found 4 pounds of marijuana and 2 ounces of psychedelic mushrooms.
Deputies raided J+J Sports Cards and Collectibles on Tuesday afternoon. An anonymous tip to a hot line alerted them to a possible drug selling operation there involving high school clientele, Sgt. Kevin Bleffert said.
After a confidential informant bought drugs at the store at 7209 Fourth St. N.W., deputies arrested the store's owner, Joseph Bustresky, 53, Bleffert said.
Debbie Stuart, owner of Accents antique store, watched through her window next door as deputies searched the shop Tuesday afternoon.
"He was a nice guy. But we are trying very hard to get an antique mile going here, and we're really struggling to make a name for ourselves. Having that next door made it hard," Stuart said.
Stuart said she saw a lot of teenagers and young adults in the store, but said she wasn't concerned because of the apparently innocuous nature of the store's products. In addition to comic books, T-shirts and novelties, Bustresky's store stocked clocks, hats, plaques, sports and game cards.
Deputies, who spent about three hours at the store, said they found the marijuana packaged in baggies ready for sale.
The anonymous tip, they said, was from a parent who indicated students from La Cueva High School were purchasing drugs at the store. Deputies said they have verified those details, but did not say how Bustresky had connections with those students.
Deputies said the raid was a direct response to the crime hot line, 314-0484.
No information was available on when or whether the business would reopen.
Metropolitan Detention Center records show Bustresky, whose home address is in Rio Rancho, was released Tuesday. The bond amount was not available.
