 Central Coast illicit drug supply syndicate dismantled

An illicit drug supply syndicate operating on the NSW Central Coast has been dismantled following a series of raids by the Asian Crime Squad today.
Following intensive investigations, five people were arrested, and tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs and weapons were also seized.
Four men aged between 22 and 48, as well as a 23-year-old woman were taken to City Central, Gosford and The Entrance Police Stations to be questioned.
Six premises in Gosford, Terrigal, Wamberal, Avoca and Springfield have also been raided by Asian Crime Squad detectives, with assistance from the Brisbane Water Local Area Command.
Police have seized 2350 MDMA tablets, with an estimated potential street value of $70,000, as well as approximately $16,000 in cash and a quantity of steroids. Detectives also located a quantity of cannabis head and cocaine.
Asian Crime Squad Commander, Detective Superintendent Deb Wallace, said the strike force had led to the dismantling of a highly-organised criminal syndicate.
“We anticipate today’s operation will have a significant impact on the availability of this illicit drug, particularly on the Central Coast.”
“It is expected the five people arrested this afternoon will be charged with a range of offences, including the supply of commercial quantities of prohibited drugs.”
The strike force is continuing its inquiries.
