Woman had £900 of heroin
POLICE recovered 90 deals of heroin during a raid on a house in Paisley after acting on a tip-off.
Officers armed with a search warrant pounced as they had been told that drugs were being stored there.
Paisley Sheriff Court was told that the drugs, wrapped in clingfilm, were found in a bin in the back garden of a house in Brown Street.
Depute fiscal Douglas Hamilton told the court that the substance, prepared for onward sale, had been divided into 90 ‘tenner’ street deals.
That, he said, gave them a value of £900.
In court, Margaret McGee, 41, of Darkwood Drive, Paisley, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of diamorphine at the Brown Street property in October last year.
Sheriff James Spy declined to hear a full plea in mitigation, calling first for social enquiry reports and a community service assessment and releasing the accused on bail to await sentence.
Continuing the case until December 18 to allow the background profile to be prepared, he told McGee that she should not read anything into the fact that he had granted bail for the reports to be done.
“The fact that I am doing so does not rule out any particular disposal,” said Sheriff Spy. “This is a serious charge.”
