Drug sweep nets 87 in 3 upstate cities 9/6/2007, 12:02 p.m. ET The Associated Press
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Police in Syracuse, Rochester and Elmira arrested 87 people in a drug sweep Thursday, authorities said.
The sweep by more than 400 police was coordinated by the state Attorney General's office as part of "Operation Thunder and Lightning," a series of investigations by the state Organized Crime Task Force.
Attorney General Andrew Cuomo described upstate drug trafficking as "a web of interconnections" with apparent links between cities, indicating it is getting highly organized after years of migrating from New York City.
The investigation that led to Thursday's arrests included 95 wiretaps. Authorities reported seizing more than $250,000 in drugs, guns and cash over several months, including an estimated $120,000 of cocaine, $35,000 of heroin and $5,000 of marijuana and Ecstasy.
About half the suspects arrested Thursday are charged with felony drug possession and distribution. Nearly all are charged with felony conspiracy, according to the attorney general's office.

Well I hate it for em. I know where they are sitting now isn't a fun place, at all.
Prayers go to all of them.

It seems like each and every time they have one of their extravagant busts here in upstate ny, I am always able to get a hold of anything I want. Stop wasting my tax dollars for bullshit that will NEVER end.
Edit: I just decided to look this up in my local paper to see what they had to say about it. I am speechless. They busted 18 people in my city and found all of four pounds of pot. FOUR POUNDS. 3 kgs of cocaine. wow. And a pound of heroin. Although I'm happy to see the heroin gone, they are bragging about busting 18 people and coming up with nothing.
