Cannabis fields against climate change?
    #6947258 - 05/21/07 01:24 PM (1 year, 3 months ago)

Growing cannabis might be a contribution in fighting global warming.

“Cannabis is the only plant that likes polluted air”, so says Sander who specializes in developing growing techniques for the cannabis growing community. A few years ago this Belgian suffered from a series of lord hemorrhage, but no medicine could bring back his health except for cannabis.

We are all familiar with the fact that trees filter the air of CO2 (carbon dioxide). Some scientists even state that mass tree planting would solve the climate problem completely. “But no tree is so eager to use a frequent dose of CO2 as the cannabis indica and sativa”, so says Sander. That is what they use for THC production. With extra CO2 in the air the THC level which is usually around 8%, may increase up to 15%. And, the plants are too busy absorbing CO2 that they hardly take on other toxins such as cannabinoids.

Considering the Kyoto climate agreement, Sander is thinking about guerilla actions. Like planting weed illegally in out-lying, hidden places. The government should consider cannabis fields as an alternative to buying fresh air elsewhere in the world. As they were actually planning to in order to achieve the goals of Kyoto.

:what:

How can the plant "take on" cannabinoids?

I'm sorry, this article is retarded. LOTS of plants like high CO2 levels . . . in fact ALL of them do (at least to a point, they all need some amount of O2). During the medieval warm period temps went as high as they're predicted to in the next century and crops flourished. They were growing wheat in northern Scandinavia.

and falling CO2 levels won't help the constantly changing SUN's real impact on global temperature change. if anything it just means less pollution if we plant more plants - which is nothing we didn't know already :\

"The finest emotion of which we are capable is the mystic emotion. Herein lies the germ of all art and all true science. Anyone to whom this feeling is alien, who is no longer capable of wonderment and lives in a state of fear is a dead man. To know that what is impenatrable for us really exists and manifests itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, whose gross forms alone are intelligible to our poor faculties - this knowledge, this feeling ... that is the core of the true religious sent iment. In this sense, and in this sense alone, I rank myself amoung profoundly religious men."
