W Cape cops nab 'drug-maker'

A 36-year-old man was arrested after being found in possession of chemicals and equipment used to manufacture drugs, Western Cape police said on Friday.
Captain Elliot Sinyangana said the man was arrested on Wednesday after a tip-off. Police stopped and searched his BMW on the N2.
About 1.5 kilograms of Ephedrine was found in the car. His flat at Sea Point was searched after police found the keys to the flat on the man.
Equipment and chemicals used to manufacture Methcathinone, also known as CAT, was found in the flat and garage, said Sinyangana.
CAT estimated to be worth more than R275 000 on the street could have been manufactured from the chemicals found.
The man was arrested and would appear in the Bellville Magistrate's Court on Monday.
More arrests were expected, said Sinyangana.

Methcathinone is slightly different from meth... think MDMA compared to Methylone.

Yeh, it's become very popular here in South Africa, especially as a cheap alternative to Cocaine. I've very nervous to touch the stuff myself.
