Those are honey mushrooms, no bitter taste...they smelled like honey and were kinda sweet tasting.

I stand corrected, my first guess was gyms, but that goes to show that my mind is somehow perverted into consistently leaning towards the eccentric or socially problematic option  Still a nice pic though

They are not honey mushrooms because they have purple spores on the partial veil remnants.
I think they are Hypholoma capnoides. Its the non-toxic lookalike of the sulfur tuft.
I have never found it but I have heard it is one of the best edibles.

I've found capnoides before, but the option didn't cross my mind. I found them to taste rather blandly when trying a morsel; didn't collect them though. Perhaps should've through better of it.
