Habitat: mixed conifer deciduous forest
Gills: pores gray
Stem: 2" long 1/4" diameter
Cap: 1.5" diameter, black and gray, rough looking
Spore print color: dark gray
Bruising: black / chestnut brown color when cap is torn open
Other information: Not much smell; larger specimens found which were up to maybe 4" in diameter. Pores turned black on older specimens and were attacked by some sort of insect.
