Just like Pinheadx last years manure/mulch finds i too have found one this year! http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7111647 http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7260437 --------------------------------------
It looks like they put manure down then some kind of wood mulch over top... These neighborhoods have been here for about 6-10 months so im kicking myself thinking about all the cubes it produced :O
This is where it was, i had no idea it was a cube before i picked it sorry i couldnt get a natural in ground shot

Texas is one hard core mushroom state
also I was just excited to post this im making a bigger post from my hunt today in the woods, happy hunting texas

HOT DAMN! That's a biggie!
Mulch makes good cubes. They mix manure in with mulch and compost it. If you're lucky enough to have some that didn't get extremely hot enough to kill the spores while it was composting, you have a perfect substrate when it's done and put in beds. Also, I believe that the myc eats the wood and makes them more potent. I don't have factual evidence, but I know that they blue much more than any dung patty growing cube I've found.

Yea im thinking of getting some manure and just leaving it in heap in the shade somewhere, it is a crap shoot, but as you see it is possible to grow some that way, espcially here in florida.

I can vouch for that. I've had cubes from a mixture of horse manure and wood chips and they destroyed me, way more potent than I was expecting them to be.

Hhaha, I got your text yesterday! That is pretty rad! It's all short, fat, and cracking/splitting due to the dry weather, of course. Nice man.

Texas is BOOOMB remember Pinheadx's manure/mulch bed finds from last year? Everyone thought he stumbled onto someones outdoor grow, but he said he had found them at two locations.
Hes in Houston also, i bet someones shipping out unpasteurized manure with mycelium in it that would be soooo cool cubes all around Houston growing semi wild.
ps. You didnt reply to my text, your a bad friend >:|
OOOh and i found my first gyms, and choice edibles, and im praying for rain
you are now up to date on my mushroom hunting good bye :|

I remember those threads.

Let's just say you texted when 5 inspectors from the city came into my friends apartment unannounced while I was there, and there were some items sitting around which I would have liked to have put away.
