Cow field close encounters

Anyone ever had any real close encounters out on a field or ran into other people picking.. just wonderin what peeps have been through
For the first time last week, i ran into a some guys who were on the field. Twas i all by myself keeping my eyes planted on the ground for any signs and i heard a "beep" "beep" which i concluded was a familiar product of rednecksitis called a "nextel cell phone". Heh, look up and two other guys are walking straight torward me .
Now we were in the forest part of the field and for about a second i was thinking of approaching them. Of course that lasted about a second before i dropped my bag and made a bee line dash to the corner fence, hopped that shit, ran a good mile through the woods, got back on the country highway and jogged back 2 miles to my truck which i park at a business center since it's too obvious to park it anywhere else.
similar expierences ?

lol nah, there wasn't shit in the bag, just a few babies. Not worth sprinting with in my hand, just makes more noise.
Funny thing about this is: I had this feeling all along on my way there not to park at my usual spot. You see theres a gate and a road leading through the forest. It's not a developed road just a hunting type road. This road is about a half mile from the fields entrance. What i normally do is park at this road right on the road, then approach the field through the forest instead of going through the front where everyone can see me.
Originally i used to always park at the business place because it's closed after 4 which is when i start heading that way, and no one is going to get suspicious about someone being out on the field that way. I just have to jog down to the forest road, go through the forest trek, hop the fence and i'm in. Pretty much 0% chance of anything going wrong. If a car comes by, they don't see a truck just out of the blue along the road and won't start to wonder why the truck is there, and why it's never there etc. etc. I just dash into the woods soon as no cars are coming.
I'm slick with it too :P. Got a shirt with "ARMY" on the front so i just look like i'm in the reserve jogging so no one gets suspicious... Anyway, what i was getting to, is for the last 6 months i normally park at the forest road because i just don't feel like jogging all the way down there. Last week when i went there kept gettin this feeling to park at the center this time. So i did. Got to the field about 15-20 mins later by foot etc. about 30 mins into picking i run into those guys. After hoppin the fence and on the way back to the truck. Guess where they parked their truck at.... ye, the forest road which is where i normally would have parked at. In other words, i woulda got caught and been absolutely stuck.

Wait, is that illegal to pick shroomies in your country or it was private property?

It's private property and it's florida, the one state where they are legal to have...... But still! It's not your field, they might be the owners, they might be armed, etc. etc. ETC.

been there done that eh lol
I've had to run in a truck, but they had a better truck so ye... we got caught. The one time i've been caught, looted my truck, called the parents ( this was back a few years when i was younger ) got us in heaps of trouble, killed the whole day. But that was my first trip of my life. So the day got more then evened out.
I've only talked to a farmer as i was stupidly in the middle of a wide open field with no where to go and he and his 1500 silverado comes around the bend. So i take one look around and see no hope of running so i walk over torward him and manage to play it off like i was just checking out the field 'behind my new house' and that i wasn't picking or anything.
Explaining all this whilst looking at the 30 o 6' with scope resting right beside him in the truck

in one field where i used to hunt semies there where neighbors who hated that people hunted mushrooms nearby. they would get particularly agrivated when some friends of mine would hunt on thier side of the fence. this latter part was all the more understandable when one considered that there where ample pickings on our side without the need to tresspass.
one morning i crept out into the fog and tall grass like a snake and started picking my mushrooms untill the fog cleared and it started warming up. before walking back for breakfast, i threw a friendly, if slightly sarcastic wave to the neighbors and as i did i spoted a parge pile of those particularly beautiful late season sporeless giants just droped on the grass next to the fence. somebody had clearly been in thier field and left them there in a hurry. i walked over, looked at them and though 'waste not'... picking them up, i walked away home with my hat twice as full.

Uhh P. Cubensis or any psychoactive mushrooms aren't legal in your state and if your going by the wet mushrooms are legal law i wouldn't count on that to work if you got caught by cops. Psychoactive mushrooms are illegal.

I love reading these stories, someone should really make an official Hunting Story thread. These are more entertaining than reading trip reports in my opinion.

I've only had one 'encounter' so far, but i have not been hunting for very long. Me and my friend went to a new field to check it out. It was dark and we would walk, stop look with a flashlight, and continue on. After spotting a feeding trough and not seeing anything we walked a little further into the darkness. We stopped and mu friend pointed in a general direction and i shined the light to see 2 huge bulls standing not 25 feet from us. Needless to say we called it quits on that one.
