Habitat: Halifax, Nova-Scotia, Canada. Found on a gravel and dirt road in a Park close to the ocean.
Gills: I dont see any, attached.
Stem: Almost inexistant. It almost seems just like a ball. The color would be white though. The brownish color is due to mixing with soil in my pocket. Thick.
Cap: A centimeter or less. White. The brownish tint is due to mixing with soil in my pocket. Spherical. Convexe. Texture: Ruff.
Spore print color: Dont know yet.
Bruising: Dont know.
Other information: Smells like a mushroom. The path I found it on is used on a regular basis but doesnt see on overabundance of feet.

Thanks,
GC, Halifax, NS, Canada

what they sound like to me is puffballs. when they are fresh, if you cut them open and they are pure white inside they are edible. but beware, make sure there is no sign of a stem or gills anywhere as young amanitas often look like puffballs.

Good ID work and advice, luck.
--------------------
Amanitas kill more people than all other mushrooms put together, so an ID of some to be eaten must be correct. An ID based on a photo on the Internets is not reliable enough to potentially risk your life on. ToxicMan
