ID Request - Southwest Western Australia
    #8603322 - 07/07/08 07:32 AM (4 months, 24 days ago)

Habitat: Wood - Found at the base of eucalyptus and pine trees

Gills: Cream to Brown

Stem: White, half a centimetre wide.

Cap: Half an inch to an inch in diameter, golden brown.

Bruising: Definite blue bruising.

Location: Picked in SW Western Australia.

Found approximately 25 of these, pretty sure they are Psylocibe Subaeruginosa. Confirmation of this would be most appreciated :P Also, a few of them seem old and quite decayed, are these safe to consume or should I get rid?

2nd pic is a closeup of the decayed shrooms.

Also, apologies about the crude manner in which these shrooms were picked.  We were a bit panicky....local law enforcement...

You found the goods, Psilocybe Subaeruginosa, the decaying ones are caused from fly larvae

fly larvae huh?  Thing is, they all looked like they were in a degree of decay, some much worse than others.  We were going to dry them and make them into tea later.  Is it safe to consume these mushrooms in any manner?
