I think this is an edible species, Agaricus campestris reason i think this is that i took a look at mushroom expert and it said the ones that stain yellow would do so rather quickly if you rubbed the cap or cut a whole specimen in half they said it would bruise at the base when cut in half i cut one in half two hours ago and no staining. Ive had these with me for three hours and no yellow staining what do yall think.

The best way to see the bruising is to cut one in half vertically, then scrape the inside with your knife edge hard enough to bruise the tissue (probably harder than you think). Color changes can take up to an hour.

Your description of the odor as almondy suggests that you have a yellow stainer, and that it will be edible. As long as the odor isn't phenolic (or metallic, chemical, etc.) Agaricus species are generally edible. Of course, the genus is known for having a higher than normal number of unusual reactions with edible species, so you should try it the first time with caution.

Happy mushrooming!

Phenolic means like the smell of the chemical phenol.  It is a nasty chemical odor, like a jar of ink.

I heard once that if you put one of the phenolic ones in a pan and cook it then it really smells strongly, people that get poisoned after that feel kind of silly for eating it after all the nasty smell it made while cooking.

Agaricus is a tough genus to ID to species.  But as a general rule, the almondy smelling ones are OK to eat.  The chemically stinky ones cause gastrointestinal distress in most people.  None are known to be deadly.
