To germ the seeds I have had good success with the clear deli cups you get at the store for macaroni salad and the like. I believe terra cotta pots are good because they aid in evaporation.

The aluminum trays with plastic top attachment pieces work really good.

Clay is best because of its good drainage and cheap price.

My suggestion was for germination.

I got sum of these pots that are made out of recycled paper, there really cool but dry out relatively quick which is a good and bad thing. But im experienced enough with growing too know how too take care of my plants/cacti so under or over watering is not a problem. Also i planted sum poppy seeds the same day and they have already sprouted, how long do cacti seeds take too germinate?

Like 2 weeks to a month, they need high humidity.

For germinating seeds you need a high humidity envoirment, a plastic dome or bag will do great. They usually take from 2 to 4 weeks to germ.
