datura germination question

i knicked and soaked roughly 10 datura seeds and sowed them into soil today. they are in a small pot, and i put saran wrap over the top (after misting it with water, for humidity)
its getting 80-90 degrees f. around here in the middle of the day. which means its probably close to 100 under the saran wrap. is that too hot for the seeds to sprout up?
and after/if they do, when can they be in normal, outside humidity? do they live well outside? (ive grown datura inside very successfully, but as its summer, i thought id let them be outside for a while.

where are you located at? I think they should be alright. Brugmansia and datura inoxia both grow wild were i live(GA)they thrive all over the place down here.

They'll do fine in normal humidity and conditions immediately upon sprouting. And yes they'll do fine outside, they are a plant and plants naturally grow outside.
Some people germ them quite easily and for other people they can be quite tricky. I have found that cold stratification works wonders for them.

Different species are more or less difficult. Datura inoxia not at all whereas Datura metel is much more so. Bottom heat helps the D.metel. Once I was burning some D.metel seeds as an offering and a few fell of the charcoal. They didn't seem very damaged so I planted them in my garden. All of they germinated. I was reading this herbal seed and plant brochure and the guy was talking about a few plants whose seeds benefited from being lightly scorched. I am going to experiment with it soon with D. metel. I think it will help.

many plants grow stronger and faster after contact with flame. infact many types of seeds will only advance to seedling stage if theyve first been burnt. this is a natural reaction to things like forest fires and a altruistic advantage to regulating species population and consumption soil essentials if im not mistaken.
