I just picked up 20 Pedro seeds and 20 Peruvian seeds my question is what is the best substrate too grow these in, too start the seeds in. Do i need too transplant the seeds from the substrate they sprout in or can they just stay in that. What i mean is if i put a large amount of substrate in a large pot too sprout them in can i just keep them in that. Whenever ive sprouted ganja seeds ive always just sprouted them in the pot i was gonna harvest the mature plant in and it worked great.

because you have to leave it moist for quite a while to get them to germinate and grow well. If you don't sterilize it, you risk growing some nasty bacteria and having mold/moss get totally out of control. Though some green will probably still get on there even with sterilizing eventually, as long as it isn't super thick or growing over the cactus, it wont hurt.
but definitely sterilize. I always moisten my seed soil well, then put it in a baking dish in the oven for an hour or so.

I used Ferry Morse germ soil, tupperware (small), and distilled water. I just nuke my wet substrate for 10 minutes. It works pretty damn good.

I heard that garlic can be used as an anti-fungal,if you want to be really protective and cautious.

I got some organic fungicide that has neem oil in it. It has worked great so far. I have had a little mold creep up and the seedlings even got a little spray on them when I treated the issue. No problems yet. Also I got 95% germ on the t. bridgesii seeds that I used it on. I've heard that some fungicides can actually reduce rates. Also keep them out of direct light until they get quite a bit older. Strong, natural, indirect light is the way to go. Get some glad press & seal and put that over a Tupperware or use the lid if you can. Make sure to fan your mini greenhouse once a day. You can pick up small terra cotta pots (the really tiny ones) for cheap. After you sterilize the soil, load up the little pots. Then make sure they are thoroughly wet. Take two seeds per pot and lightly tap them into place. You will probably see something within two weeks. Sometimes they take a while to get their tap root in and stand up.

not to mention the the free gnat eggs that come with some store bought soil.
