first try indoors, using some seeds that were the result of an accidental pollination in the outdoor a couple seasons back. cross was papaya x papaya, 2 fems outta 3 seeds. one tall, stretchy and and slow, one short, fat and fast  . nice and colorful too, purple on the petioles, stipules and underside of the leaves, can't really see it under the light though. here she is 25 days into 12/12 under a 250W HPS... growing in coir.

just a quick run to learn how the indoor thing works, only gave her 18 days of veg, kicking myself for not getting a clone now. might give revegging a try after harvest...
some hot peppers, tabasco, suave orange mild habanero, red hab and bhut jolokia, the current world record holder. anyone else growing peppers?
can't believe I didn't get a nice light sooner, pretty impressed so far, plants practically jump outta the dirt  ...

Hey, how did you germ the bhut??? Or did you obtain a plant. A friend of mine had no luck, so I was wondering if he just sucks or if they are really that hard to grow.

I just threw the seeds in some dirt, watered and put the containers on a little heating pad. bottom heat helps a whole lot when sprouting peppers, 85-90ish is supposedly the ideal soil temp. they came up last of all the peppers, I think it took about 10 days, 100% germ rate. once they sprout you can take em off the heat. seeds were from NMSU.

figured I'd update 
the plant in soil isn't looking so hot, probably just really rootbound, but the one in coir is looking really nice at day 42 of 12/12, should be done in a week or 2. Hopefully it can be revegged... peppers are going to town...

one of the bhuts is throwing out some flowers already

I thought this was going to be a thread about crossbreeding weed and peppers... spicy buds, now I wonder how that would taste...

I'm in need of a sterile sporeprint, if anyone wants to do a trade for some seeds or something, or maybe just for free if you have a lot of them............. i'd really appreciate it

That's looks really nice. I have a few Diesels flowering at day 60 right now not quite done yet and man would I kill for some quicker flowering Papaya right now.

yeah, I've never done it, but many people have said it is possible.

it's under a 250W HPS
here are a couple new shots with corrected white balance  , 47 days 12/12, seeing lots of cloudy trichs but there are still new pistils growing so I'll let it go a while longer
the slower one looks like shit, too stretchy :\ , got a clone of her going in coir to see if I can keep her under control this time.

cut the nutes out a few days ago and she started going yellow real fast. decided to harvest today (Day 50) to leave some nice growth spots for a possible reveg, was worried if it went much longer all the undergrowth would go yellow. yield was low but it was just a test run, the plant only had 18 days veg from seed and was in a small container. prolly 10-15g. hopefully the reveg works, gave her a shot of high nitrogen feed and got her under CFL 24 hrs...
