confused about LC

my friend has an LC clone colonizing. the tissue sample was taken with a syringe, and the LC is the recipe in tahoe's tek which uses about 0.2% malt. there is actually multiple tissue samples in the LC because my friend thought he had not gotten one the first 2 times, and when he shot it out there were 3 or so. anyway...
there is now visible mycelium growth after 3 days, but we both fear contamination. he tried to take a picture, but only has a camera phone, so it was pointless. the mycelium has grown around the tissue samples, among other places, which are still brownish. there seems to be a bit of discoloration, but also seems like it could easily be bits of tissue.
has anyone encountered this with LC cloning, and/or does anyone have a good link to pics of LC contams? i know i have seen pics of it, but upon searching this time i could not find anything helpful.

Try pulling a sample with a sterile syringe squirting it into a shot glass and giving it a good smell. If you are sterile about taking the sample there should be no harm done except a very small portion of LC gone to waste. If it smells offensive odds are you have a contamination.
