 "Fur" on fresh mushrooms remains after dehydration

My guess is that it is simply the humidity that gives some mushrooms a fuzzy, sort of furry stem. But then I dehydrate them in a fruit dehydrator, and the fur is still there.
It's only white, no green or anything, and does seem to be part of the mushroom. Still, I thought I'd check. Are these safe to eat?

Mushrooms are composed of mycelium. It's normal.

whenever i pick fresh fruits at the base of the stem right where the fruit is in contact with the dirt mine always have this soft fuzzy layer that is distinctly different from the fruit body itself, i've never been suspicious of that, and it is very easy to remove it, its kinda like a protective layer....
