Green mold after first flush

Hey guy I've got one for the brain trust. I've a few trays of straw that I cased with 50/50 peat/verm and I've been adding about a table spoon for each 1/2 cup. Every tray I've had so far has made it throught the first flush no problem but stumbles afterwords and devolopes green mold. Should I use oyster shells instead or also? Or do I just need to oust my fruiting chamber and give it a good bleaching? Any help will be good.

I just took apart one of the cakes and it seams that the contams weren't settling on the top of the casing layer but instead had established itself throughout the cake and then moved up to the casing layer (I think). Could this be a cause of not pasturizing the straw for long enough or simply not using clean conditions when transfering the grain spawn to the straw? Should I do that in a glove box or is it alright to do it in the open air?

Straw tends to contaminate after the first flush.
How long do you usually pastuerize?

Normally for 45min to 1 hour at around 160? Obviously it's possible to go longer but is it alright to go hotter?

160 is fine if it gets too hot you would be sterilizing which would make contaminations even easier.
If you must use straw try to be as clean as possible and hope for the best.
If you have been getting more green mold outbreaks then usual you should spray down your grow area with bleach.
