Iv just completed by 3 month crop of philosopher stone truffles but Im a little disappointed in the yield.
Now a few do look like truffles but the rest just seems like left over rice cake. Im no expert but look can i eat the rice cake??
Could i ask you people on what you think.

Just ate a few & flicked on the MP3 player with chillout music. Plus my new shiny Nokia N95 came today..... Got to be in the pub for 19:30 for the football, going to be interesting.
God damn the taste is soo unique its like riding a bike, you never forget.

how many jars of what size was that yield from?
Some of those are nice looks truffles but lots aren't, though there might be small ones in the clumps of rice cake. Crumble them to find out. The truffles won't crumble. I found the yield on a 3/4 full pint jar of chicken feed wasn't massive. But they're such low maintenance.
How did you use rice cakes? The round wafer things? I haven't seen that before.
BTW, I've heard truffles may not need 3 or 4 months as is often recommended, but be ready as soon as you can see them formed on the side of the jar.
