Ok here is the deal. First time grow here, and I have been reading a TON. I finally have 4 cakes rdy to go

Now I want to take 2 of these cakes and dunk and roll, and put them in my PMP.
The other 2 cakes I want to crumble with a peat/verm mix. Now I only have 1/2 jars still so can I just mix up the casting mix I need and put it into my PC and that will be fine?
Also with my Poor Man pod..
I have about 4 inches of hydro clay balls in it with 2 bubble wands going but I still see no condensation on the sides.. does this mean my pod is not working or is this a normal thing... Lack the money right now to get a digital Gage..
Also once I make this casting is it ok to Put into my PMP? after I put it in to incubate for a few days of course.
Thanks everyone for the advice...I did search all these Topics but a lot of the posts have conflicting answers.

You want to sterilize your casing in the PC? Also, condensation does not mean you have high RH. It is due to a temp difference between your FC and the room. You are using clay balls? Like the ones for a fish tank filter or what? Do you have them submerged in water? You should have just bought some perlite, rinsed/strained it, and poored it over the wands. You could put the casing the PmP. Try to find a small container, so you get somewhat decent substrait depth with the 2 cakes. GOOD LUCK!
Also, misting the sides of the FC helps bring up the RH. The more water surface area exposed, the higher the transpiration and higher RH. That is why perlite is so effective.

Oh, you have the red clay balls like the ones used in the original PmP right? Make sure you have plenty of it above the water level. That is where you get the RH.

yeah the stuff you get at the head shops think its called geolite. I think the water is my problem then.. I have the water maybe a inch lower than the top of the geolite.
well I don't want to sterilize the casting mix of i don't have to. I have the small PC from walmart. the 40 dollar one. it only fits 5 1/2 jars in it at a time...
So since I can put the casting into the PMP can i just put it in and leave it like the cakes? or will it still require misting.
Thanks again for the help. Just trying to get all the kinks out since i have about 10 more jars that are almost 100% would like to cast them all or just do cakes...just don't want to mess it all up and lose them. Took soooooooo long just to finally get to this step. almost 28 days in

I don't know much about Geolite. I don't know if it has the ability to retain water like perlite does. I do know that if you only have an inch of it above the water, that isn't enough surface area to maintain RH.

Man, it wouldn't hurt to PC them. Some do some don't. I am not all that familiar with the 50/50.

Good luck with everything. I can't wait to see the results!
