 First grow, would anyone comment?

Hi,
Just got my first flush  good to have got there, but I am a little disappointed by the results  . Cakes are a 50%/50% split of B+ and Stropharia from Spores101 (sorry, ordered before I realized they had been kicked off the sponsor list, took ages to come). I followed RR PF vid basically 100%, cakes had dunk and roll before FC. FC 75deg/85%+ always.
My concern is the very low yield. Things I think I may have done wrong (would these cause low yield?):
>> I haven't been fanning, I have relied on the bubbler bottle for air exchange.
>> My grow is in a closet, so is my air pump.
>> I have misted the cakes very lightly twice every day.
If anyone has any suggestions in time for my second flush, that would be great. Any other comments would also be very welcome.

get that rh up in the high 90's
the closer to 100% the better.
gotta fan man...
that bubbler is lame.
youd do much better misting and fanning a few times a day...
how deep is your perlite?
and did you saturate your dry vermiculite after you dunked them?
id go ahead and finish up this flush. dunk and roll again. only this time spray the shit outta that dry verm for the rest of the day after you roll them. then fan and mist several times daily

Perlite sucks... I use 2 reptile humidifiers from petco with the cakes sitting on clay granules. I have a huge tub and my humidity is sits at 97%.
Also I fan 4 times a day, with 0 misting.

well perlite in that shotgun fc, if hydrated porperly, gives 99% humidity all day everyday.
hes just not fanning...
he needs to mist tho, to keep that vermiculite wet.
once they start pinning tho Sib, dont mist directly on to the pins. this can cause aborts. but then again can no fanning, and so can letting everything get to dry...

Thanks for the replies....
So - Fan lots, get humidity as high as possible, don't mist pins.
What would you change about the 'lame' bubbler  ? I could move the air pump outside the closet to draw in fresh air?

-> Yes, fairly well I think. Bits kept falling off though which made it a little difficult.

and that bubbler is pretty lame... if you don't have one of the expensive big pumps on it your not doing anything worthwile with it anyways.
I got the biggest baddest one they had, it sucks spending that much on it.
DO IT RIGHT, OR DO IT TWICE....
& you should fanned 2 times since we started posting on here lol.

the way that FC is designed, IFFFFF the perlite was thouroughly rinsed and drained. then that bubbler isnt needed. the perlite (each granule) is acting like a mini bubbler and wicking water molecules into the air creating the humidity.
you need to (help)provide air exchange by fanning, and need to give moisture to your cakes by misting...

Spend the money on the reptile humidity/air exchanger from petco or petsmart. Its worth it IMO.
Buy the baddest motha pump they have.
When I'm at work I'm not sitting there worrying bout my shit getting air cuz that pump helps alot.

imo its not worth it for cakes...
and if you make the transition to bulk, theres PLENTY of teks that wont require it either...
good to get if youve got spare change, but not the first thing to get for this hobby
