 quick quest. about field capacity

i know this is a bad pic, all i have is a phone camera, but this thing measures light, ph, fertility, and moisture content. i was curious if anyone knew what moisture content field capacity would be. the moisture goes from 1 to 4 (dry to wet). i realize the easiest thing would be to get something to field capacity and measure it, but i am somewhat new and paranoid about getting field capacity wrong. if all else fails it is what i will do, but was wondering if anyone else used any tools like these.

Field capacity has been reached when you squeeze a handful of whatever it is and a few drips come out. I'd suggest taking a small bowl of your materials and play with that until it meets the hand-test for field capacity, then use your tool.

field capacity is simply this:
you grab a handful, you squeeze the shit out of it...if a huge runny mess of water with lots of streams coming out, its too wet. if only a few drops of water or maybe a small trickle of water comes out, its field capacity.
also, rely on your intuition and knowledge rather than tools, it'll get ya further. tools are only good after you know what you're doing and how to use it.

I hear ya on the paranoia, man. I'm going to be relying on intuition, kind of like cooking, ya know? I was out in my garden playing in my poo pile the other day in the rain trying to develop this intuition, trying to figure out how people describe it.
Also playing with a dishwashing sponge is supposed to replicate the "first squeeze, big stream, second squeeze, drips" thing. I guess a lot of playing with it in the days leading up to spawning is in order.
