Stubborn Orissa

Hello happy growers
I have 2 Quarts of Orissa on WBS. After a slow start they colonise well but now almost a week or so both have a square inch or less at the bottom that wont colonise.
My plan is now to use them anyway one of these days anyway and make one plain casing and one I want to spawn to poo/straw.
Ill leave the uncolonised parts alone.
Good to go or very dumb idea?
Thanks and wishing you a pleasant saturdaynight!

em.... very dumb idea, sorry. just wait for the jars to finish - you said it's only ben a week or so, and that's incredibly quick. i wait 3-4 weeks for mine to go 100%, some wait even longer. without patience you will not progress far in this hobby.....

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! grrrr they have been inoculated more then 2 weeks ago SK!
And patience is not my number one quality but in the few months I been into my new hobby I HAVE actually made progress!
I am very good at pasteurising as well, lol I pasteurised my B+ on straw TWICE!!!! One before I spawned the straw, and once AFTER spawning!
K will wait 2 more days then...
Thanks SK,
MF

on standard coir-verm casings I have had a 100% success rate removing the un colonized grain and some of the myc around it, just makes sure the part you case is 100% colonized and that there is none of the unfinished stuff still there, I wouldn't try this for the straw though, it has to act as spawn so if the uncolonized sopt has an invisible contam you might loose the whole thing

That was what I was thinking penlight! Plain logic If I leave the uncolonised part alone, toss it or whatever. So just using colonised grain is the motto!
But Ill have some patience till monday then, otherwise SK gets angry with me..

ya, but after it is shaken the myc takes 24 hours or so to recover, so if it is a small spot shaking may actually draw things out longer

Shake once around 15% colonization IMHO. More shaking simply BATTERS myc & delays process.
O/I spore innoc 1/1/5, shook once @ 15%. Pic today. Nuther day & it will be like solid snow.
