Has anyone seen any good deals on ebay for a HEPA filter lately? I've searched around a bit. I can't seem to find the 49.99$ filter. The cheapest I found was 99.99 plus like 49 for shipping.

i've been doing A LOT of searching lately and havent found much under $150 including shipping.
if you find a good source for HEPA filters please share

Well there has been numerous times where I have found them for less than 80$ shipped. The last flowhood I built, I bought the filter for like 69-79$ total. I forget how much exactly.

I keep hearing how people can build flowhoods for under $250 but I just dont see where they are getting the parts, the minimum prices I've seen just to get the filter and fan run up to $300 with shipping, thats not including any of the other supplies needed

I've read that post, very informative, but it still does not show where you can get the necessary supplies to build a FH for under 250

You can get a fan for free. Call up your local air conditioner/heater place. Ask them if they have any furnace blowers. Tell them you are doing a project for school. I've gotten a couple free like this.
