Well, my ISP is Time Warner cable, and they just recently (within the past week or two) quit offering usenet access through their news server, which fucking blows...anyways, what are some good pay services if any of you guys use them?
I am running off a free news server right now, but it maxes out around 100KB/s, I used to get 500-800, which was bad ass, I was looking at giganews, but 20 a month is quite expensive, I'm willing to pay if it is the best, but if something is only 5 a month, and only marginally worse, then I would rather that, just let me know what you guys use...
thanks

I use giganews. Not one problem in the 6 months I've had usenet. I've downloaded over 300 gigs worth of shit too and it's never gone down.

I use Giganews too, it's the best IMHO, although it's actually $25/month if you're going with the unlimited account (the $20 offer on their main page is promotional, read the details). They're never down, they always max out my bandwidth, and they have the longest retention. I've heard that http://www.newshosting.com is also a good compromise if you want to save some cash. But if you're a new customer, you can get Newsleecher with Supersearch for free if you go with Giganews. That's a good deal, Newsleecher is what I use and recommend, and you can't normally get Supersearch without paying (ie. don't expect to pirate it).

ahh...yeah, im using SABnzbd with they SABTAB2 plugin, works great with newzbin, one click, and its on its way, just now it is so slow with the free news servers, even with 8 thread, compared to the 4 that TW gave me.
Anyways, is newsleecher a lot different, or does the same thing as far as downloading/decoding/fixing/parity check and all that jazz automatically?
