 Quick question....what is a "spider"?

And I don't mean the 8 legged kind.
At the bottom of the page, there is a listing like 48 members, 15 visitors, and 2 spiders.
So, what's a spider?

Basically. Its a program that browses over the web, or in this case the shroomery.
They can be used to do basic automatic maintenance. They can also be used to gather email addresses and such for spam.
Search engines use crawlers to create an index of visited pages that will be used to make faster searches. There are many uses for web crawlers. Just do a quick google search if you want to know more.
