I've been on this site for a while and just realized how bloated the sponsors prices are ...... I ordered my first syringe from an non shroomery sponsor a few years ago. It worked great but I got swept up in the "only use shroomery sponsors" movement like everyone else. So I go to buy an EQ syringe today and find out its ridiculously expensive. Including shipping: $24 from spore works...$20 from both spores101 and ralphsters ( at least you get the free SOTM from Ralph which makes it worth it). I finally found the site I ordered from before and priced it. $10 for the syringe (12cc) 5 bucks for shipping. Thats the same price I paid like 3 years ago. They may not be a sponsor but at least they don't exploit a growing community that supports them.

5$ isn't that much for gauranteed sterility and quality. if the syringe is bunk or contamed (this almost never happens), sporeworks and ralph will both send you new syringes. can you say the same thing about any non-sponsers?
also, if you are that cheap about spores, you should just make LC's anyway. cuz with LC, 1 syringe = 10000000000 more syringes.
also, it's not just ralph that gives free syringes, if you mention shroomery for sporeworks, you get a free syringe i think.
AND, ralph is technically more cheaper than your non-sponser anyway. 20$ for 2 syringed shipped. yours is 1 syringe for 15$ shipped.

OK first off I used 1 syringe for 3 years so don't lecture me about stretching a syringe. Where I just ordered from yes they guarantee sterility and replace if not. Can you buy a syringe from Ralph for 10 bucks shipped? Nope then the 2 for 20 doesn't mean crap. yes its a better deal on 2 but thats not what I'm saying ( i even noted that the extra syringe made it worth it.) so get off the sponsors jock strap.

You cheap ass.  You only buy 1 syringe every 3 years? You should be happy if they charge you $100. I'll apologize if I find out you're living in africa making $1 per day or something, but seriously these guys deserve a bit of support.

When you purchase a spore syringe or print from one of these cheaper non Shroomery Spore Vendors that aren't well established...
your gonna have higher Contam rates and sometimes your customer service is gonna be crap...
I've heard it in here for years!~
If you willing to deal with this, have at it...
but don't come in here bitching when you get shitty products or customer service.
There are alot of fly by night Vendors out there just trying to make a few bucks...
by selling cheaper products than the more established Vendors that have been in business for years...
remember that cheaper isn't always better!~

Just because everyone else is doing it is more the reason these sponsors shouldn't be over charging. Water spores and a syringe ......whats the profit margin there. I dont think you can get 50 syringes for 10$ unless they're like cheap insulin syringes.
I actually doubt any of the vendors have million dollar houses and drive lambourghinis... like I mean I'm sure they're well off and never miss a meal but shit they need to have employees to answer emails, fill orders, buy or legally cultivate the spores, ect ect. They also guarentee they're products quality which isn't something everyone does.
Also if you go to one of the lesser vendors you could be getting say B+ spores instead of whatever you ordered and you'll probably never know. They could sell your personal information to advertising companies.
Ect ect.
I buy from sponsors for the piece of mind and I believe that alone is well worth it.

i was quite convinced spore vendors were being greedy by charging shroomery members so much for syringes but, after reading this post, it kinda makes sense why they dont charge us only a little more than they make it for.

we'll I mean they could obviously charge less.
if you look at sporeworks they need to pay for transport fees of spores from jamaica and workman has to go there to cultivate the spores.
as all they're spores come from inside sources.
they also invest 25% of sales back into the company, but that could all be spent on hiring staff and workman's research so for all we know they take in 75% of sales as net profit.
actually, I'd assume that's really safe to say because they'd be stupid to advertise that 25% bit any other way.
I still wouldn't say they're ripping people off.
I know fish breeders who raise snails and invertebrates for extremely low costs and sell them making a couple grand a month. Along with plants that readily reproduce and chilid tanks with the same idea. I know a guy in Ontario who paid for his house being an online breeder and he just got into the aquarium scene I believe 4-6 years ago.
those shady spore businesses that charge less are actually ripping us off.. they likely illegally cultivate spores making they're mark up higher.

After getting fucked over by a nonsponsor I really wasnt hateing the extra 5 bucks
Also roadkills special is like 7 syringes for 50, That should last you fucking forever.

if you only need 1 syringe every 3 years, whats the big deal? also, you should investigate the vendors prices a little bit more, friend. with sporeworks' ever so expensive syringe * * you also get a free syringe for being a community member. if you order the their choice syringe for $9.50 and use the code for a free one, thats 2 for under 10 bucks, without shipping. with shipping it comes to like $8 a syringe. plus, you know the spores are viable, and if not, theyl send you a new one. so whats the problem? i hope your non-sponsor syringe is contamed!

I personally feel that the $/result ratio I get from buying syringes is virtually fucking free.
I mean, for 20 dollars I will end up with enough product to last me and my friends for over a year.

You know, I was reluctant to order over the internet and bought locally . . .
And the syringes were contaminated. And the guy's not in business any more so how's that for customer service? All the time, gas, phone calls, etc, ended up being more than just buying from a reputable source.
Buy from wherever you want. Don't give people crap for not agreeing with you. But the sponsors also help keep the site running (that you're now bitching about them on), and you owe them basic respect for that alone.
