Well, apparently conks aren't that difficult to coax out in my climate. I don't have any antlers that are worth balls compared to RR's antler pics. But, we can try again.

Very pretty. Is that G lucidum or G tsugai? A few words about your growing conditions would be nice as well. Normally, antlers form with less air exchange and conks form with massive air exchanges, but my reishi seems to want to make antlers even with a fan blowing on them...lol

Those are G. lucidum. I don't know, man. The conks just sort of happened. I left for two weeks on vacation and when I came back, I had conks going. I just left the bags open and misted them. Then that mass of fruits is the 5-gallon bucket tek. The main thing seemed to be temperature to spur growth, though I'm not sure why some went antlers and some went conks. They're all sitting outside on the porch right now.
I'm going to inoculate a couple of dozen grain jars and do a couple of those 5 gallon buckets again--that's just so damn easy and appears to work pretty well.
Btw--do you get one or two flushes from your reisihis?

I am collecting spores, but you'd have to isolate them on agar like you would a wild print. That's my next project--getting into agar work. I'm actually going to collect some right now. PM me if you're still interested. I was planning on injecting sterile water into the pint jar I'm collecting them in and then drawing out spore syringes.
