i was trying to find portobello spore syringes online and couldnt find anything, and i did do a search on agaricus bisporus by the way... so anyways i started thinking about finding them in the wild and collecting spores from then and using that, but dont know where to find them in the wild, and remembered their pretty easy to get from the super market... but are the spores still on the shrooms when you buy them from the super market or do they have them removed?
do you think i would be able to get spores out of it and do a portobello grow? thanks.

Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms.
Anyway, I haven't had any luck with the store bought variety, but perhaps if you get very fresh ones from the markets you could try to clone off it. Otherwise a good way to go is to buy one of those commercial grow kits for button mushrooms available from hardware stores, and then after fruiting print and/or clone.

I've created clones from Portobellos, but I'm not sure what a multispore culture would look like. After all, it is only a strain and not a species. It's the same species as the common white mushroom Agaricus bisporus.
I would think cloning would be a better tek.
Good luck.
