Bix Beiderbecke
    #2395965 - 03/02/04 04:12 PM (4 years, 6 months ago)

I dont know if any of you know about Bix Beiderbecke, but he was an amazingly talented white jazz musician back in the 20's.

He had perfect pitch and had an amazing musical memory. Unfortunately, due to the fact that he couldnt play the music he wanted to, he died of an early death (28) due to complications from alcoholism (lumbar pneumonia).

His music is absolutely fantastic tho, nice jazz.

If you are interested, look for:

In A Mist - A 3rd stream piano piece

Singin the Blues - signature piece, Trombauer on the sax, bix on the cornet.

Jazz me blues - another good cornet piece.

Young Man With A Horn is loosely based on him, tho the movie is terribly inaccurate...im speaking of the book.
