I work for a music rehearsal/recording studio & we also do PA hires for weddings, parties, pub quizzes, campaigns, conferences etc...
Anyway last week the christian party running for mayor of London used us for they're election purposes, while setting up the equipment this dude was talking to me saying that he wants to get kids while they're young and teach them right from wrong & stand up to gays & lesbians, he also said that his sons teacher is a known lesbian and he got his son to stand up in the middle of a lesson (class) and say that lesbianism is wrong!
He wants all kids to be like this and literally said "get them while they're young"
I think this is what gives religion a bad name, its supposed to be about freedom & liberation, enlightenment & awakening, not imposing your beliefs on poor kids who don't know what to make of it all. Ultimately by saying gays & lesbians are wrong is saying nature is wrong, which is saying "god" is wrong!
The dude broke one of our speakers and refused to pay for it, which gave me the opportunity to tell him explicitly what i really thought of his "plans", i think we should all speak up irregardless when we see this going on, even if its other peoples kids, morally we should teach them one thing only, to be aware & do what they feel is right. From awareness "right" just happens...
Anyway this really sucks, those poor kids they must be so confused.
I think all religion is a trap as then you are right and other people are wrong, i think all religion should be scrapped and only the words of the actual prohpets/sages kept as scriptures.
Buddhist, christian, muslim, hinu, tasoist, seek...aren't we just all human?
