I'm reminded....
    #8576227 - 06/29/08 01:44 AM (4 months, 22 days ago)

So I remember once upon a time ago, maybe my first trip, when I felt so overwhelmed by the beauty of nature....  THEN, I was back into my groove of "life" and felt kinda depressed with all the extreme wastefulness that happens every day, driving on highways through woods, and whatever else you could think of that would deface the planet.  blablabla, environmental message yeah yeah ok.

I try n do my part to the point where I dry my hands on my shirt, as it'll dry anyway, and use towels for a real mess.  Not until going to Disney a few days ago did I just get blown away by all this waste.  My friend is an intern there and took me to a bunch of the parks for free with discounts along the way and I just couldn't believe all the waste!  And while I've been to campgrounds and parks that were had over 400 acres of land, it blew my mind to think that just one of these parks, I read one was 300 acres, was nothing but an artificial fantasy land in the middle of the woods/marsh/swamp/whatever.  And then the parking lots might as well be twice the size of the parks.  just blows my mind.

It was weird...  I come back from a hike and am refreshed... I come back from disney and am depressed.

The hell?

Just image how much ignorance goes into celebrating figures like Oprah. It has always been my opinion the most wicked human organ is the tounge. If we all ate simply, without so much concern over chocolate, etc, I am convinced there would be no world hunger... or world food crisis for that matter.

hehe thanks, I mean the whole thing being free was awesome.  The total I spent in food didn't surmount to how much I'd pay for admission.

I saw some parents with their kids on leashes!? kinda surprised

But it doesn't have to be so in ours. We can at least try.

I think about this stuff everyday. Why do people get so pissed if someone throws a can on the street? We already fucked the earth up by dumping tons of asphalt and cement on it, whats a few grams of a aluminum gonna do? Its not as if a plant was gonna grow in the middle of the damn road. Not that I drive around throwing can's out the window, and I don't want to see trash all over the city, but I think you get my point.

--------------------
"I don't want to fuck with anybody's head here," Hawking told the assembled scientists via his voice-simulation device, "but if time goes sideways as well as forward, there might be, like, other versions of this reality, where, say, the Roman Empire is still in charge and stuff."

"By the way," Hawking added, "ever think about what'd happen if you, say, went back in time and accidentally killed your own younger self? Man, that shit would be so fucked up."

yeah, I wasn't on the brink of any mind-shattering shit but felt an impulse to vent it to the one place that would be so receptive.  It was more of OC snappy comment bait than anything.
