Religions of Guilt
    #8392305 - 05/12/08 11:21 AM (6 months, 8 days ago)

Are one of the worst scourges of mankind. Guilt is not liberating or educational in any way and only serves to keep one stuck endlessly reliving some past error(s). It is paralyzing and not some gateway to greater knowledge.

agreed guilt is bad, but repentance is Godly. if you know where youve wronged, and where youd like to change aspects of your life, and go about doing so...its a beautiful thing.

but you are right any religion that makes you think youre dirty or guilty for what youve done, and that youre condemed or convicted is not healthy.

stay out of your past, and just use what has happened throuhgout your entire life to know where to go and where not to go, and better yourself

Anything that teaches nature is wrong, and that your inherent nature is flawed, should be abolished.

This whole creation is divine & a growth, who are we to say something is inherently bad and feel guilty for it?

I'm all for accepting nature in its totality and not labeling anything as "evil"

Evidently they have to, as they have been done so!

But its alot easier to not label it as evil, when you have no enemies the entire universe is your friend.

And if you label something else as evil, imo your only fighting yourself which causes a divide in you, if you enjoy it keep doing it, i enjoy nondivision & total acceptance, lifes alot more fun that way. For me.

IMO youre getting it mixed up...

being judgemental is wrong, but knowing the difference between good and evil is a trait we're born with.

not hating violence, and murder, and rape, and child abuse is absurd...

Hatred is very holy.

And ALL societies are born with the exact same moral standards...

You can know it as wrong, and act accordingly, but if your not accepting it your still fighting yourself imo.

We are not born with knowledge of good & evil, we are taught it, many children steal, kill & are violent until they are taught otherwise.

If you want to go save the world from violence & murder go for it.

I'd much rather simply spread love instead of going around trying to fix something that ain't broke.

Thats all im saying, if your trying to fix the world as you see it as wrong then your gonna be in a constant struggle to repair it cause it is not broken.

Imo the only thing that can help anything grow is love which comes form acceptance not denial of things as they are. Not labelling as "thats evil so that doesn't deserve my love" misguided yes, evil no.

Why should what others do concern you unless it has direct affect on your life?

You really shouldn't have asked me that dude.

Because we are all one and whatever "others" do directly influences all as we are one existence. Whatsoever happens has a direct effect on all lives!

the whole thrust of looking for cause and effect in an anthropomorphised cosmology is related to blaming and guilt.

i agree that love and peace is the only real remedy to everything that is bad or evil.

i dont see a problem and say DONT DO THAT ITS EVIL, if i see someone lacking in love and righteousness i try to lead them towards love and righteousness.

condeming(LIKE STATED IN PREVIOS POST) is a sure fire way to get someone to reject what is being told them. thats life, reject authrity, reject condemnation. no one wants to be told what theyre doing is wrong, but if we all know its wrong, to sit there and watch it happen and not offer a strenght in love to help someone is = to being wrong yourself...

you cant just sit by and watch the world be evil and not speak your mind. if you know its wrong stand up for what is right...

Great! So you have decided that they should live by your moral standards instead of their own. So judgemental and so loving at the same time - whee!

Gotta love spiritual arrogance.

Yes get up stand up, dont give up the fight. :rastana:

But don't you see in saying "dont do that its evil" automatically there arises a feeling of guilt in the other party?

Its a very touchy subject but if you teach simple awareness then whats considered "right", love peace acceptance harmony, happen automatically.

Some people by nature are agressive & violent, we are 99% animals. There is that 1% that can transcend but we are not aware of it, mostly. Please don't take the 99:1 ratio literally, i'm just saying humans can become fully aware of existence, other animals on this planet (that i know of) can't as they're all about survival, humans can ask why bother trying to survive? & look into it...

No, wrong again. If you said that to me I wouldn't have to feel guilt unless I choose it. Our words (fortunately) can't make anyone do anything.
