We don't need to create situations in which we ought to find the correct way to react - egolessly. We can simply approach these issues mentally, and by becoming aware of where our minds are pulled off track and into an egotistical state, we can continue to force the issue upon ourselves until we effectively grow immune - slowly, we will reprogram our minds out of the catastrophic ego-based mindset our species resides in today. We just have to sit still, and let the layers peel themselves away. Psychedelic drugs also bring up these issues and define the prison we have set for ourselves.

The mind is there to be used. This technique, which is a kind of acceleration of usual development, can be used to immunise yourself against the shortcomings of others. When you remove that seed within you that wants to dominate, when others attempt to enforce it (learned from the culture) it falls flat as there is nothing inside you that is called forth as a reaction.
I think this is more or less what Jung called personality development or the increase of consciousness. Consciousness expands at a rate determined by the force of the organism. The fetters of the ego lock the mind into a prison where consciousness expands only very slowly, and keeps attention directed away from the mind itself, such that the organism never learns it is an illusionary part in a whole.

 The most intense shroom trip of my life was mostly spent watching Shrek. The onion peeling was a pretty crazy scene.

We just need to spend the time, and be able to justify spending the time, to work through all our flaws which pull us into the mess we're in at the moment. Anything pulling you away from God is an error of thought, and therefore is just something that is triggered when you're socialising. You can, therefore, trigger it in your own time, and slowly overcome its force. It's very easy... just be patient.
You'll quickly find YOU'RE all you'll ever need, and there's a sea of absolute fools torturing themselves out there.

Look at natural selection, it's just survival of the most godly - those with God function better, more efficiently, because they are more at peace with themselves. Those organisms that drift from God lose control of themselves and are easily wiped out. Only God survives, and God is all that there needs to be. Those that are wiped out not only choose their own dooms, they secretly wish for it.
