still dont understand what the fuck that guy is saying. i get pretty much everything else in the movie, except for this guy it's so hard to pay attention to him.

the whole movie is like that.
filmed in austin i believe.
it's a great movie even if you aren't a drug user and enjoy it's trippy visuals. got some good ideas.

What he is talking about is life creating life, then compounding the creation due to new technologies leading to concious control of genes, then molding with robotics to atain a super human with a superhuman mind. Also the Human mind is linked to the universal mind, and when the human mind wakes up to the universal mind the compounding goes even more nuts and eventually we will get a perfict garden of Eden.

I believe this is what the universe seeks out. I believe we are almost there, when he talks about a human with a new conciousness, isnt a human on shrooms or a acid, a new concioussness though temporary. It has to do being able to live multiple lives at once, or having controle over more then one body. I believe aliens have doen this and if you look at my other post about Jesus and the law of Belief you might see what I am geting at.
Science is getting to the point where its going to admit to the injustice its done, but not intentionally, we can blame Adam and Eve for fucking with psychedelics and becoming as the 'gods'. Whould you give a baby a gun? No you would give him a toy gun, then when he is mature enough (this is were all the truth grows, and parasitism dwindles) you give him the gun and set him free in the world to hunt. Humans are the baby, the gun is what Jesus what trying to show us, If you have faith enough, you can sy to that mountain, move hither, and it shall move.

His other point is that evolution is gradually occurring at a progressively higher pace, meaning that within the near future we should be able to see evolutionary manifestations within our own lifetimes.

Interesting. I understand what he's talking about when he says that evolution is compounding and progressing at increasing speeds (in a sense - not biological evolution but an evolution of culture and information), but the rest I'm not so sure about. Is he saying that the information age will transform the way our individual cells interact and allow them to carry information directly, and pass it on to the next generation (forgive me, I know nothing about molecular biology or neurobiology!)? Everything after the half way mark had me stumped, but I'm interested. I look forward to watching the film in its entirety.

I watched the entire film last night and it blew me away. It covered a wide array of philosophical topics ranging from language and its inability to convey true human experience effectively, to discussing mass consciousness as a means of spreading knowledge (by citing a study which found that an isolated group of people scored twenty percent higher on a day old crossword puzzle -which had already been answered by millions previously- than on the average crossword that had been presented the same day), and a plethora of insights into the nature of waking reality and its relation to lucid dreaming and the act of dreaming itself.
Highly recommended, for sure.  I'm sure most of you deep thinkers will get more out of it than I did as well - a lot of profundities zipped right over my head
