The Bible: A bunch of people on drugs!
    #8545603 - 06/20/08 08:27 PM (4 months, 30 days ago)

If you read the bible as a story about a bunch of people on drugs, it makes much more sense.  The forbidden fruit (entheogens, mushrooms notably) cause god to say about man "Behold Man has become like one of US" noting that these substances create a god within the person, according to the first book of the bible.  Notice as well god says US and not we meaning gods in the plural, just a little slip up from the former polytheistic texts.

If you see Jesus as the drugs, then all the healing, as well as the statement "Jesus is the only path to god" make a lot more sense.

All the visits by angels, burning bushes that do not burn out, and crazy stories make so much more sense if you realize that everyone is on drugs.

The bible is just a bunch of old stories from the shaman days  passed on and continually changed, the real meaning of the bible has been lost for quite a while(there is lots of evidence to point to use of these plants in the biblical days by the hebrews).

Here is part 1 of 12 of The Pharmacratic Inquisition, a movie on the subject.  It is the result of ten years of research by the authors, I quite enjoy it. search on youtube for the rest.

"A human being is part of the whole, called by us 'Universe'; a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.

This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest us.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.

Nobody is able to achieve this completely but striving for such achievement is, in itself, a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security."

If you look at the bible assuming that it was written on drugs, or that it was written after a time when alien encounters were common, then we could say the  bible was pretty dope!

:yesnod:

We can argue for ages over the specifics of the matter, whether the anointing oil contained cannabis, whether moses swallowed ayahuasca, et cetera, but I've come to take it for granted that all modern religions are the descendants of various ancient psychedelic cults.

I just can't accept it as coincidence that they all start to make more sense, one way or another, once you've taken a lot of acid.

Yea after taking psychedelics the Idea seems much more plausible, imagine how fascinated you would have been taking these drugs thousands of years ago, I would have worshiped them! Still do now!

The only people on drugs is you.  You need to repent of spreading such blasphemies and lies.

He definitively needs a good dose of shrooms soon

OP: "The Bible: A bunch of people on drugs!"
Of course...even if it 'only' was/is the drug of 'love'
Other stories come quite handy therefor, too.
I really did read quite a bit of the bible, thinking about da (healing) herbs (oil, incense) and shrooms (all the visions) and it also fits quite well

If Jesus represented drugs and wasn't actually a person, did they crucify a mushroom on Golgotha?

I guess you simply skipped all the available scholarship on Biblical hermeneutics, history of the Tenach (OT), New Testament studies, basic theology, psychology of religion, the demythologizing of Jesus  (Karl Barth, John S. Spong, etc.), Jewish historical studies, middle eastern cultures, blah, blah, blah...to come up with this stoned high school version of history.

"Of course I'm on drugs, this is the Shroomery!"

Yeah, right, and nobody at this site might actually want to Know what Reality is 'cause everyone here is just a mind-wasted dope[r]. Is that what you perceive? Here's a teaching for ya:

My response was a joke...

Moving on if you had watched the video I linked you would see that I am basing this off 10 years of research from 2 people.  As for Jesus on the cross, the amanita has a distinct growth cycle and apears like jesus on the cross with a skirt, broken rib and crown of thorns.  Afterwards it turns into the holy grail phase where it turns upwards catching rain, which leeches the red colour and turns the mushroom a golden color sometimes, and inside, red water, the true blood of christ.

Here is a photo of chirt, notice below him are 4 mushroom looking objects, they include psilocybin mushrooms, Syrian Rue, opium poppies and the amanita muscaria, this is just one photo of tens of thousands these guys have collected and analyzed for meaning.  Here you can see jesus is representing the drugs, Jesus has the circle around his head making him look like a mushroom also.

Quite right ol' bean. Only Gnosis reveals this to anyone, and it is Reality impinging upon human consciousness like the reduced image at the viewing end of a telescope reveals an entire galaxy.

My bad then. I'm too accustomed to seeing newbies, obsessives, drug addicts and the lunatic fringe deliver their own home-spun version of the nature of religion in human consciousness, so  accept my apologies for misreading you. BTW, there's nothing that doesn't look like an Amanita muscaria to Clark Heinrich and devotees of the Amanita cult.

Personally, I believe that Gordon wasson was wrong, that the Soma of the ancient Indus River (Hindus) people was cow-dung spawned Psilocybes, not A. Muscaria. The golden color, the obvious, dependable ecstasis, the colors which harken to writings of the later Tibetan Book of the Dead, and the more-than-possible attribution of Holiness to the Sacred Cows of India by virtue of the Sacred Mushroom which springs from their dung.

Gordon Wasson, John Allegro, Andrija Puharich, Clark Heinrich and others have all made us think and ponder, but sometimes, some people on a roll wax obsessive-compulsive.

Only Gnosis reveals this to anyone,

sez you.

I hear all sorts of religious folk saying their personal revelations have revealed the "truth" or "reality" to them. Yet there isn't any evidence that can be shared and humans tend to be deluded by there subjective experience.

So

You might be talking some truth

or

you might be talking trash.

Personally i see no reason to believe it.

You're not supposed to "believe" it, you're supposed to experience it yourself. All that belief can do is prepare someone to believe in the existence of such experience, in which Knower, Knowledge and Known are ONE and the same Reality. It is the Being-Knowledge-Bliss (Sat Chit Ananda) that constitutes Jnana (Gnosis) in Yoga. This is mysticism and it is gnosis. It is The Perennial Philosophy. I'll not argue about it, I'll simply circumambulate, that is, beat-around-the-bush (albeit, a 'burning bush'). I wrote about it in my blog dated 6/23/08. You are not expected to believe me for your sake, I am only trying to report experience as it unfolds in my awareness. www.markosthegnostic.org.

Anyways, why even try to legitimize it?
