I'm assuming that it is ok to remove the mycelium growth from the jars with a sterilized instrument, right? Does moving it from the jar into the aluminum foil-covered-tupperware not hurt the mycelium??

Also, what kind of tape did you use in the incubator, brand name...?

This would be the best tek in the world imo if only you changed the casing to peat moss and vermiculite rather than coco coir. We all know you dont want a nutritous casing layer. That leads to overlay which leads to contamination. Great tek but replace 50/50 coir/verm with 50/50 peat moss/vermiculite!

I bought everything you have. Cost around $400.00 dollars for everything. I havent had any change in rye. Does it matter what rye you use? I also tried the brown sugar way and still havent had any change. Is Amazon strain harder to grow? Ordered 2 syringes and a Spore Print from the Spore Store. Tested on rye twice and brown rice once. Please HELP!

Hi there, I'm following these instructions as closely as humanly possible for a first timer. I've been incubating my jars for 2.5 days and haven't seen any mycelium yet. My jars are sealed and the inoculation holes are covered with band aids. Should air be able to enter the jars for mycelium to form?

Water to soak the rye in? It doesn't really matter. Just make sure all the grain is submerged underwater. Press a grain between your thumb and index finger, and if it easily separates into two, it's hydrated enough.
